POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team won two Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards on Tuesday. Miah McDonald earned MAAC Player of the Week, and Kiley Myers won MAAC Pitcher of the Week.
 
Myers has been named MAAC Pitcher of the Week in all five weeks this season. She has captured 16 MAAC weekly awards in her career, including 14 MAAC Pitcher of the Week honors. McDonald has now been named MAAC Player of the Week six times in her career, and twice this season.
 
McDonald belted five home runs and drove in 15 as Marist went 5-0 at the Buccaneer Classic this past weekend, hosted by East Tennessee State. She hit .412 with a 1.794 OPS (1.294 slugging, .500 on-base) while also scoring eight runs, drawing three walks, and stealing two bases. Against Mercyhurst on Friday, her three-run homer broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning. On Saturday, she belted a grand slam in the second inning against St. Bonaventure. Later that day, she hit a three-run homer against Mercyhurst. McDonald closed out the week with a pair of two run homers, five RBIs, and three runs scored against St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
 
Kiley Myers went 2-0 with an ERA of 0.64 and a WHIP of 0.64 in her two appearances last week. She gave up just one run and four hits over 11 innings with eight strikeouts. In her first outing of the week, Myers tossed a one-hit shutout against Mercyhurst on Friday, which included three strikeouts. In a 10-1 victory in five innings against St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Myers allowed just one run, three hits, and one walk over four innings as she struck out five and improved to 10-0 on the season.
 
Marist has won 12 MAAC weekly awards through five weeks of action. The Red Foxes have won Player of the Week all five times, with Myers winning Pitcher of the Week every time so far this season.

Marist (19-5) overall, which was ranked #16 in last week's D1Softball Mid-Major Poll, returns to action on Friday with a non-conference doubleheader at Lafayette. First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m.
