POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Red-shirt junior infielder Haley Ahr of the Marist University softball team was named Jersey Mike's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Ahr hit .875 with a 1.900 OPS (1.000 slugging, .900 on-base) in Marist's two games last week, a doubleheader sweep at Lafayette on Friday. She reached safely in nine of her 10 plate appearances. Ahr went 4-for-4 with a run scored and a walk in Marist's 11-2 game one victory. In game two, she went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a walk, and a run scored in the Red Foxes' 11-1 win.
 
This is Ahr 13^th career MAAC weekly honor. It is her eighth career Player of the Week award, and third this season.
 
Ahr currently ranks in the top 25 nationally in the following categories:
 

• Batting Average: fourth (.535)
• RBIs Per Game: 14^th (1.43)
• On-Base Percentage: 19^th (.571)
• Slugging Percentage: 23^rd (.901)

 
Marist has won 13 MAAC awards through six weeks of action. The Red Foxes have had the Player of the Week in all six.

Marist (21-5) opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at Saint Peter's. The Red Foxes and Peacocks will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon, and a single game on Sunday at noon.
