POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Graduate shortstop
Miah McDonald of the Marist University softball team is ranked third nationally in this week's D1Softball Middle Infield Power Rankings.
McDonald is hitting .484 this season with seven home runs, 21 runs batted in, and 27 runs scored in 19 games. She has a 1.565 OPS (1.016 slugging, .549 on-base), and has seven stolen bases. She has 11 multi-hit games this season, and she was named MAAC Player of the Week on May 10.
This season, McDonald has broken Marist's career records for home runs, runs batted in, and triples. She is the MAAC's Preseason Player of the Year after earning the same honor following the 2024 season. In 2024, McDonald set the Red Foxes' single-season records for homers (20), RBIs (70), hits (77), and assists (166).
McDonald is the second Red Fox to be honored individually by D1Softball this year.

The Marist softball team is 14-5 this season, and the Red Foxes are currently ranked #16 in the D1Softball Mid-Major Poll. Marist will play five games this weekend in the Buccaneer Classic, starting Friday against Mercyhurst at noon and host East Tennessee State at 6 p.m.
