POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team will open a three-game series against Fairfield on Friday in a clash between the last two undefeated teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
 

Series

• A doubleheader that was initially scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Friday, and will be played at Fairfield with Marist serving as the home team. First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m.
• The final game of the series is currently set for Sunday at noon. The location is TBA.

 

Records

• Fairfield is 8-0 in conference play and 14-16 overall.
  • The Stags have won nine straight.
  • In MAAC play, Fairfield has swept series against Mount St. Mary's (three games), Manhattan (three games), and Merrimack (two games).
  • Fairfield has allowed more than one run just once in conference play.

• Marist swept a doubleheader from Canisius on Tuesday, prevailing by scores of 8-0 (five innings) and 11-1 (six innings).
• In game one, Kiley Myers pitched a no-hitter, and Sienna Kunze blasted a walk-off three run homer.
• Myers also earned the win in game two. Maddie Pleasants went 4-for-4 with a homer and two strong innings in the circle. Maddie Gore belted a walk-off grand slam.
