POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Graduate shortstop
Miah McDonald of the Marist University softball team was named ECAC Player of the Year on Thursday.
McDonald set the program's and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's single-season record for home runs (28) this season, and she is currently the NCAA leader in total bases with 195. She hit .459 with 86 hits, 80 runs scored, 69 runs batted in, 16 stolen bases, and a 1.568 OPS (1.026 slugging, .542 on-base) this season.
Previously this year, McDonald was named MAAC Player of the Year for the second straight year. She is the program's all-time leader in home runs, runs, RBIs, and triples; MAAC all-time leader in runs and RBIs.
McDonald was one of five Red Foxes honored by the ECAC, as she was joined by
Haley Ahr,
Kiley Myers,
Maddie Pleasants, and
Peyton Pusey. All five members of this quintet were previously named First Team NFCA All-Region.
- Ahr is currently the NCAA's leader in batting average (.508) and ranks fifth in hits (90, single-season program record).
- Myers is tied for the national lead with 11 shutouts. She set the program's single-season record for wins (23), and she is the MAAC's career record holder for shutouts (23).
- Pleasants became the first player in MAAC softball history to earned Rookie (2022), Player (2023), and Pitcher (2025) of the Year awards in her career. She set the program's and MAAC's single-season record for RBIs this year (74).
- Pusey is the NCAA leader with 82 runs scored this season. This broke both the program's and MAAC's single-season record.
In addition to the MAAC, members of this year's All-ECAC Team come from the America East Conference, Coastal Athletic Association, Ivy League, Northeast Conference, and Patriot League. Marist's five selections were the most of any team.

The Marist softball team set a program record by winning 48 games in the 2025 season, and earned its first win at NCAA Regionals in program history.
