Marist Softball Earns Regional Coaching Staff of the Year Honor

Ausanio, Erb, and Grupp Earn Prestigious Award After 48-Win Season

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball coaching staff of Joe Ausanio, Kristin Erb, and Alyssa Grupp was named ATEC/NFCA Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year on Friday.
 
In 2025, Marist set a program record with 48 wins. The Red Foxes won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships, and they went on to win their first NCAA Regional game in program history.
 
Ausanio finished his 17th season as head coach this year. He was named MAAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time, and he won his fourth conference championship. Erb completed her fourth season on staff, and she earned her first head coaching position at California University of Pennsylvania on Thursday. Grupp wrapped up her first season as an assistant after playing for the Red Foxes from 2021-24.
 
This is the first time the Red Foxes have earned this honor.
