Red Foxes Set for Valentine's Day Meet at BU

BOSTON, MA - Marist men's and women's indoor track and field returns to action on Friday and Saturday with the Boston Terriers Valentine's Invite inside the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
 
MEN'S LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Marist Red Foxes men's track and field delivered a strong all-around performance Friday at the Fastrack National Invite, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
  • Highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 4x400-meter relay, two top-five finishes in the 3,000-meter run, and a second-place performance in the 5,000-meter run (college division), the Red Foxes also recorded numerous personal-best marks across sprints, distance, and field events.
  • Marist's 4x400-meter relay team of Ryan TrocolarWeston LaBrecqueAdam Staffier, and Miracle Okoli raced to a second-place finish in a season-best 3:18.84. Trocolar (48.76) and Okoli (48.86) bookended the relay with strong splits to secure the podium performance.
  • In the 3,000-meter run, Kevin Cannon placed third in 8:48.13, while Sanjith Nomula followed in fifth at 8:49.53. Both performances marked personal bests.
  • In the 5,000-meter run (college division), Davis Haines finished second in 15:37.60
  • Amari Mathis reached the finals of the invitational 60-meter dash, placing eighth overall after running 6.92 in the preliminary round and 7.02 in the final. He also placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.00).
  • Hayden Mundrake posted a personal best in the weight throw at 12.91 meters (42 feet, 4 inches), while also competing in the shot put. Daniel Vargas cleared 3.65 meters in the pole vault, and Manasi Simpkins led Marist in the invitational long jump with a mark of 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1.25 inches).
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Marist Red Foxes women's track and field turned in a record-breaking performance Friday at the Fastrack National Invite, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
  • Marist posted two individual victories, four school records, and a wave of personal-best marks in an impressive showing against strong regional competition.
  • Leading the way was Gabrielle Bozeth, who captured the 200-meter dash title in 25.02 seconds. The mark broke her own school record set in 2025, continuing her dominance in the event and securing one of Marist's two individual victories on the day.
  • In the field events, Alexandra Samperi delivered Marist's second victory, winning the long jump with a leap of 5.77 meters (18 feet, 11.25 inches). 
  • Ruby Kaupp cleared 3.35 meters (11 feet) in the pole vault to set a new program record.

  • Jenna Borselle broke her own 2025 school record in the shot put with a throw of 10.56 meters (34 feet, 7.75 inches).

  • Kelly Ballen set a new standard in the weight throw at 10.55 meters (34 feet, 7 inches), surpassing the previous record she established in 2026.


MEN'S LAST TIME OUT AT BU
  • The Marist men's track and field team delivered a historic and record-setting performance at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University, highlighted by two school records and an eye-opening total of 15 personal or indoor-best marks against one of the nation's deepest fields.
  • Amari Mathis stole the spotlight in the invitational 200-meter dash, breaking a six-year-old school record with a time of 21.66. Mathis surpassed the previous mark of 21.84 set by Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne in 2020, continuing a standout indoor season against elite competition.
  • Not to be outdone, Ryan Trocolar etched his name back into the Marist record book in the invitational 400-meter dash. Trocolar crossed the line in 48.59, breaking his own school record of 48.66 set last season and capping a strong day for the Red Foxes' sprint group.
  • Raffi Buchakjian delivered one of the most notable improvements of the day, slicing an impressive 33 seconds off his personal best in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:31.46.
  • In the 5,000 meters, Marist placed two runners under the 15-minute barrier as Jackson Borge clocked a personal-best 14:58.93, becoming the 35th runner in program history to break 15 minutes
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT AT BU INVITE
  • The Marist women's track & field team delivered a strong showingat the John Thomas Terrier Classic, highlighted by a massive breakthrough performance from Mallory Holloway in the 5,000-meter run at Boston University.
  • Holloway turned in one of the top performances of the day for the Red Foxes, clocking a personal-best 16:58.01 in the 5,000 meters
  • In the 200-meter dash, Makenzy Nielsen and Alicia Ramos both recorded personal-best performances, finishing in 26.07 and 26.13, respectively. Julie Cristinzio also added a personal best in the event with a time of 27.11.
  • The Red Foxes picked up heat victories in the 400-meter dash, with Stephania Granados tying her personal best at 59.39 to win her section, while Breelyn McNamara claimed her heat in 1:00.17.
    In the 800 meters, Rebecca Maclaren posted a personal-best time of 2:21.15, while Grace Fletcher led the group with a time of 2:18.60. Fletcher later returned to anchor the 1,600-meter relay, helping Marist finish 17th overall in 3:59.80.
    Additional strong performances came in the mile, hurdles, and field events. Nicole Wang recorded a personal best in the open 60-meter hurdles, and Gracie Taylor represented Marist in the triple jump.
