Marist Water Polo Is Back In Action For Two Games On Sunday

The Red Foxes Get Set For The Harvard Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts – Marist Water Polo heads back on the road for two games at the Harvard Invite. The Red Foxes will face No. 21 Wagner and No. 13 Harvard on Sunday, March 1.
 
After going 2–0 last weekend, the Red Foxes enter the weekend with a record of 11–3.

 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Red Foxes went 2–0 last weekend in their home opener.
  o Match one vs. Iona University: 12–9 win
  o Match two vs. Salem University: 16–8 win
• Ines Sanchez was named MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, marking her fourth award of the season. In the two games, she saved 21 of 35 shots for a save percentage of 60%.
Jolanta Szentpali earned her first award of the season, being named MAAC Rookie of the Week. In the two games, she recorded three goals and two steals.
 
SCOUTING WAGNER
• This MAAC matchup will be played on Sunday, March 1, at 11:30 a.m. ET.
• The Seahawks enter the contest with an overall record of 3–6.
• Most recently, at the Wildcat Invite, they went 1–2.
  o They lost to Harvard, 16–11, and CBU, 14–13. In their final match of the weekend, they defeated Gannon, 16–3.
• This marks the second meeting between the Red Foxes and Seahawks this season. Marist prevailed in the first matchup, winning 14–7.
 
SCOUTING HARVARD
• This match is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, at 4:00 p.m. ET.
• The Crimson enter the contest with an overall record of 12–1.
• Harvard has posted several notable wins against top-ranked teams.
  o The Crimson defeated No. 12 Wagner twice this season and also earned wins over No. 8 Indiana and No. 22 California Baptist University.
• This is the first meeting between the Red Foxes and the Crimson this season
 
UP NEXT
  • The Red Foxes head back west to Pomona California for the Convergence Invitational for four games on March 6-7.
  • They will face off against Biola University and University of La Verne, on Friday, and Cal State University Monterey Bay and Cal Baptist University on Saturday.
