Softball Opens 2026 Season Friday With Charleston Southern Tournament

Red Foxes Starts Campaign At Charleston Southern Tournament

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team will play five games from Friday through Sunday at the Charleston Southern Tournament to kick off the 2026 campaign.
 
SCHEDULE
  • Friday, Feb. 6 – vs. Central Michigan, 10 a.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 6 – at College of Charleston, 3:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 7 – vs. George Mason, 11 a.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 7 – at Charleston Southern, 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 8 – at Charleston Southern, noon
All times are Eastern
 
HEADLINES
  • Marist was picked first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 11 of a possible 13 first-place votes.
  • Haley Ahr was named MAAC Preseason Player of the Year
  • Ahr was one of three Red Foxes to earn Preseason All-MAAC honors. The list also included Peyton Pusey and Sienna Kunze
  • Ahr was ranked in D1Softball's Top 100 Players list at #96.
  • Ahr (9) and Pusey (62) were ranked in D1Softball's Preseason Mid-Major D100 Player Rankings. 
 
2025 RECAP
  • Marist went 48-9-1 overall last season, and 21-2-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
  • The Red Foxes won the MAAC regular-season championship, before winning its fifth MAAC Championship in program history
  • Marist took home three of the conference's major awards:
  • McDonald, Haley Ahr, Peyton Pusey, and Kiley Myers were all named First Team All-MAAC.
  • Pleasants, Samantha Rogers, and Sienna Kunze were all named Second Team All-MAAC.
  • Kunze was also named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
  • Marist softball coaching staff earned the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year Honor for the northeast
