Tempe, AZ – The Marist water polo team travels out west for the first time this season for four matches at the ASU Invitational, this weekend, Feb. 7-8.
 
The Red Foxes will face off against University of the Pacific and Arizona State University on Saturday and will face Fresno State and San Diego State University on Sunday.
 

LAST TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes went 1-1 last weekend against Brown and Princeton.
  • Match one vs Brown: 12-10, win.
  • Match two at Princeton: 9-14, loss.
• Paige Naegle led the Red Foxes to a win in the first one with four goals and an assist.
• In the second match Lela McCarroll led the team with three goals.

 

SCOUTING UNIVERSITY OF THE PACIFIC

• The match is slated for Saturday, Feb. 7, at 3:45 PM.
• The Pacific Tigers enter this match with a 1-1 record this season.
  • Match one vs Fresno Pacific: 23-6, win.
  • Match two vs #4 Cal: 9-25, loss.
• This is the first match between the Red Foxes and Pacific Tigers this season.

 

SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

• This match is on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 PM.
• The Sun Devils enter this match with a record of 8-1 this season.
  • At the Malmstem Invitational they went 5-0 beating Cal Baptist University, Loyola Marymount University, McKendree University, Michigan, and UC San Diego.
  • Next, at the Triton Invitational they went 3-1, beating Michigan, UC Irvine, and LMU while losing to UCLA.
• This is the first match this season between ASU and Marist.

 

SCOUTING FRESNO STATE

• This match is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 PM.
• The Bulldogs come into this one with a 5-3 record on the season.
  • At Polopalooza, Fresno State went 3-1 beating Michigan, UC Irvine, and San Jose State while losing to Indiana.
  • Next, at the Brigitte Donner Daws Memorial Invite the Bulldogs went 2-2 beating San Jose State and UC Davis while losing to Cal and UCLA.
• This is the first time the Red Foxes and Bulldogs are meeting this season.

 

SCOUTING SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY

• This match is slated for Sunday, Feb.8, at 4:15 PM.
• The Aztecs come into this one with a 5-4 record to start the 2026 campaign.
  • At the Titan Invitational they went 3-1 beating Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Biola, and Cal State Fullerton while losing to Long Beach State.
  • On January 24^th they faced off against Southern California and would lose 8-22.
  • Finally, at the Triton Invitational they went 2-2 beating Pomona-Pitzer and Concordia while losing to Loyola Marymount and UC Davis.
• This is the first match between San Diego State and Marist this season.
