POMONA, California – Marist Water Polo travels back to the west coast for the Convergence Invitational in Pomona, California. On Friday, March 6, they will face off against Biola University and University of La Verne. Saturday, March 7, they will play two more matches against California State University Monterey Bay and California Baptist University.
 

LAST TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes played two matches at the Harvard Invite, March 1, where they went 1-1 against Wagner and Harvard
  • Game one vs Wagner: 7-6, win.
  • Game two vs Harvard: 14-8 loss.
• Kendell De Beer had a stellar weekend, leading the Red Foxes with three goals in the two matches.
• Ines Sanchez had a great weekend in goal, saving 31 of 45 shots for a save percentage of 68%.

 

SCOUTING BIOLA UNIVERSITY

• This match is slated for Friday, March 6, at 2:30 p.m. ET.
• Biola enters the weekend with an overall record of 2-12 on the season.
• Most recently at the ASU Sun Devil Classic they went 1-3 in four matches
  • Match one vs LIU: 17-14, loss.
  • Match two vs Arizona State: 23-10, loss.
  • Match three vs La Verne: 22-5, win.
  • Match four vs Azusa Pacific: 15-10, loss.
• This is the first matchup between Marist and Biola this season.

• The Leopards enter the weekend with an overall record of 0-15 this season.

  • Match one vs Arizona State: 26-0, loss.
  • Match two vs Azusa Pacific University: 17-4, loss.
  • Match three vs Biola: 22-5, loss.

• The Otters enter this match with a 7-9 record to start the season.

  • Match one vs Pomona-Pitzer: 14-7, loss.
  • Match two vs University of the Pacific: 17-13, loss.
  • Match three vs Brown University: 13-9, loss.

• This is the first time the Red Foxes and Otters will meet this season.

 

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY

• This match is slated for Saturday, March 7, at 4:30 p.m. ET.
• CBU enters the weekend with a record of 9-5 on the season.
• At their most recent invitational, they went 2-2 at the Wildcat Invite.
  • Match one vs Villanova: 18-15, win.
  • Match two vs Princeton: 14-12, loss.
  • Match three vs Wagner: 14-13, win.
  • Match four vs Harvard: 15-9, loss.
• This is the first meeting between Marist and CBU this season.
