EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its All-MAAC women's tennis awards on Thursday morning, with Marist earning multiple selections.
The MAAC also announced its All-Academic Team, honoring seven Red Foxes.
Junior
Caterina Assi was named to the All-MAAC Singles First Team, while senior
Cloe Clements Sorde and sophomore
Lola Ungerman earned Second Team honors. Freshman
Yasmin Asnis was selected to the Third Team.
In doubles play, the pairs of Clements Sorde and Ungerman, along with sophomore
Viktoria Lorentzon and freshman
Tessa Wachtel, were named to the All-MAAC Doubles Second Team.
- Assi was named to the First Team after playing the majority of her matches at No. 1 singles. She posted a 10-4 record in dual matches and earned MAAC Player of the Week honors twice.
- Clements Sorde earned Second Team honors after going 11-4 in dual matches and 12-5 overall.
- Ungerman also secured Second Team recognition with an 8-3 record in dual matches and a 9-5 overall mark. She was named MAAC Player of the Week once.
- Asnis was selected to the Third Team after posting a 10-6 overall record and earning MAAC Rookie of the Week honors once.
- Clements Sorde and Ungerman earned Second Team recognition after posting a 10-2 record in dual matches.
- Lorentzon and Wachtel were also selected to the Second Team with a 13-6 overall record, with Wachtel earning MAAC Rookie of the Week honors once.
Seven student-athletes received a spot on the MAAC All-Academic Team. Student-athletes must complete two semesters at their institution while holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
