Softball Hosts Siena to Close Out Regular Season

Senior Day to be Celebrated Saturday at 12:45 p.m., with First Pitch Pushed Back to 1

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team (31-19 overall, 21-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) closes out the regular season this weekend with a three-game home series against Siena (25-17, 15-9) at Gartland Field.
 
Schedule
  • The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at noon.
  • First pitch on Saturday has been moved to 1 p.m. Senior Day will be held at 12:45.
  • Friday's games will be streamed through the Red Fox Network.
 
Senior Day
  • At 12:45 on Saturday, the following seniors will be honored:
  • Over the last four years, Marist has made two NCAA Tournament appearances, won three MAAC regular-season championship, and has won a total of 144 games.
 
About Marist
  • The Red Foxes have won 11 straight, and they are coming off a doubleheader sweep at Manhattan on Wednesday, winning by scores of 10-2 and 12-3.
  • Marist has now at least 30 games in three straight season, which is the first time in program history this has occurred.
  • Marist has scored at least 10 runs in three straight games.
  • Peyton Pusey hit .492 with 21 runs scored in Marist's 18 April games. Pusey's two-homer game in game two at Manhattan was the third of her career, and she played in her program-record 220th game in that contest.
  • In Marist's 11-game winning streak, Haley Ahr is hitting .459 with 14 RBIs.
  • Livia Wiltsie hit six home runs and drove in 18 in Marist's 18 April games.
  • Samantha Rogers has three home runs and 15 RBIs in her last seven games.
 
About Siena
  • The Saints are currently in third place in the MAAC.
  • Siena is coming off a non-conference doubleheader split at Le Moyne on Tuesday.
  • In its last MAAC action, Siena dropped its first two games against Merrimack last weekend, but earned a 1-0 victory in the series finale.
  • Gracie Goewey leads the MAAC with 153.1 innings pitched and seven shutouts, and she is tied for the MAAC lead with 14 wins. Goewey also leads the Saints with a .386 batting average to go along with six homers and 25 RBIs.
  • Emma Petersen leads Siena with nine home runs and 36 RBIs, and she is hitting .369.

  • Marist is scheduled to open play in this year's MAAC Championship on Thursday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Gartland Field.
  • The Red Foxes will face either the #4 seed or the #5 seed. These two teams will face each other on Wednesday, May 6.
