POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – After winning its third straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season championship, the Marist University softball team is scheduled to open MAAC Championship play on Thursday at Gartland Field

After inclement weather on Wednesday, the Red Foxes are now scheduled to play in Thursday's final, which is tentatively scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start. Marist will face the winner of the fifth-seeded Quinnipiac and fourth-seeded Sacred Heart, which is tentatively set for 10 a.m.

The MAAC Championship utilizes a double-elimination format. All games in the championship will be shown live on ESPN+.

- Marist is 34-19 overall, and won its third straight MAAC regular-season title with a 24-3 mark in conference play.Â
- Marist closed the regular season with 14 straight victories, marking the second straight season the Red Foxes have entered the MAAC Championship with 14 straight wins. It is the third time in the last two seasons Marist has won at least 14 straight, following streaks of 19 and 17 last year.
- Marist has won at least 30 games in three straight seasons, marking the first time in program history that the Red Foxes have won at least 30 games in three straight seasons.
- Marist won all 10 MAAC series this season. The Red Foxes have won 15 straight MAAC series dating back to last season.
- Marist is 13-3 this season in one-run games, with 12 straight victories in these contests and a 10-0 record in MAAC games decided by one run.
- Marist is 12-1 against this year's MAAC Championship field (2-0 Fairfield, 2-1 Iona, 2-0 Sacred Heart, 3-0 Quinnipiac, 3-0 Siena).

- Marist has won five MAAC championships: 2006, 2013, 2016, 2023, 2025. This total is third in conference history behind Canisius (13) and Iona (6).
- Marist is seeking to become the first repeat MAAC champion since Monmouth (2018 & 2019).
- Marist has finished fourth or better in every MAAC Championship since 2016 (2016 – 1st, 2017 – 3rd, 2018 – 3rd, 2019 – 2nd, 2021 – 3rd, 2022 – 4th, 2023 – 1st, 2024 – 4th, 2025 – 1st).
- The last time the #1 seed won the MAAC Championship in back-to-back years was Canisius in 2007 & 2008. The Golden Griffins beat Marist in the final in both years.

- Marist won two MAAC major awards
- Peyton Pusey was named MAAC Player of the Year, marking the fourth straight year a Red Fox earned this honor (Maddie Pleasants, 2023; Miah McDonald, 2024 & 2025).
- Joe Ausanio was named MAAC Coach of the Year for the third straight year and sixth time in his career, trailing only Canisius' Mike Rappl (seven) for most Coach of the Year honors in conference history.
- Pusey and Haley Ahr were named First Team All-MAAC. Both were named All-MAAC all four years of their careers. Pusey was named First Team All-MAAC each of the last three years. Ahr became the third player in program history to be named First Team All-MAAC four times (Caroline Baratta, Amanda Koldjeski).
- Sophomore Sienna Kunze was named Second Team All-MAAC for the second straight year, and freshman Annabelle Geiser was also named Second Team All-MAAC.
- Geiser and Livia Wiltsie were both named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
- All 11 Red Foxes who were eligible to selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team were honored (Haley Ahr, Taylor Anderson, Emma Bayor, Stella Blanchard, Ava Hampton, Sienna Kunze, Isabella Manory, Peyton Pusey, Samantha Rogers, Marissa Scarano, Anna Sidlowski).
