KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Marist University men's soccer junior captain
Chris Verheul was named to the 2026 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List, as announced by United Soccer Coaches.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is presented annually to the NCAA Division I men's and women's National Players of the Year. Verheul was one of 29 forwards named to the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Players to Watch – Forwards list, which recognizes returning United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region selections from the 2025 season.
As a sophomore in 2025, Verheul earned United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-East Region Third Team honors. He appeared in 15 matches and started each contest, totaling 1,084 minutes in his second season with the Red Foxes. Verheul finished the season with four goals and two assists for 10 points, including one game-winning goal. He was also selected to the All-MAAC Third Team following the regular season.
The MAC Hermann Trophy watch lists are announced by position ahead of the start of the NCAA Division I regular season. The 2026 MAC Hermann Trophy recipients will be announced on Jan. 8, 2027, in St. Louis, Missouri.
