POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Helena Szep of the Marist women's cross country team, as well as Sean Galvin of the Marist men's cross country team earned weekly awards as the duo were named the Metro Female Rookie and Male Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

It marks the second time this season the Marist duo has garnered the awards. 

Szep led the way for Marist in her collegiate 6-kilometer debut, finishing 14th overall with a time of 22:03.4 this past weekend at the Jasper Fall Invitational. Galvin once again led the way for Marist, placing sixth overall in the 8-kilometer race with a time of 25:07.4. 

Marist will be back in action on Oct. 2, at the Paul Short Invitational.
