October 25, 2000 -- It took four games for the Jaspers of Manhattan (18-9, 5-1 MAAC) to defeat the Marist College Volleyball team (15-11, 8-15, 15-1, 15-8), as the Red Foxes dropped to 1-18 overall and 1-5 in the MAAC.

Junior Julie Gosewisch (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) nearly recorded a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Leanne Taylor(Oradell, NJ/River Dell) registered six kills and a team-high 11 digs, while senior Leigh Shillington (Kingston, Ontario/Bayridge) tallied 27 assists and a game-high three blocks.

For the Jaspers, Marcelina Diaz had a game-high 46 assists, while Bridgett Geddes led the Manhattan attack with 15 kills.

The volleyball team will return to action this weekend as they take its upstate swing to face Niagara on Saturday, October 28th and Canisius on Sunday, October 29th.
