Men's Soccer Falls to Loyola 3-0

Baltimore, MD - The Marist College men's soccer team had their three-game winning streak come to an end in a 3-0 loss to Loyola on Sunday afternoon. The Red Foxes fall to 5-8-1 on the year, and 4-2 in the MAAC.

Loyola (7-4-3, 4-0-1) scored their first goal in the 40th minute when Nate Lyden snuck the ball past the goalkeeper to give the Greyhounds the lead. Marist was unable to bounce back as they were outshot 17-3. The Red Foxes were also edged in corner kicks 8-2.

The Greyhounds would score twice in the second half, with Conor Messerle scoring in the 71st minute, and Jay Joyce scoring with less than a minute left in regulation.

John Balzarini (Holbrook, NY) led the Red Foxes with five saves on the afternoon.

The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, November 1st, when they host Niagara at 7:00 p.m. on Leonidoff Field.
