Lawrenceville, NJ-The Marist College Men's soccer team fell to Loyola College (MD.) Greyhounds, 2-1, this afternoon in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament Championship game on the campus of Rider University.

Joseph Crespo (Bolton, Conn.) started things off for the Red Foxes, netting a 25 yard unassisted goal just seven minutes into the contest. Loyola then added two, the first coming in the 25th minute by John Alecci, and the last one coming with 12 minutes left in the game, when Mike Lynam scored with a header off a free kick by John Dalziel.

Marist goalkeeper, Mike Valenti (Sicklerville, NJ) posted nine saves, while Loyola's Reb Beatty recorded five saves in the game.

Tomislav Rogic (Boonton, NJ), Crespo, David Musinski (Hicksville, NY), and Bryan Pettit (Whippany, NJ) were each named to the 2002 MAAC All-Tournament Team for Marist.

The Red Foxes finish the season with a 7-10-2 overall record and a 6-3 record in the MAAC.
