POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- On Tuesday afternoon, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) ranked the Marist men's soccer team 7th in the North Atlantic region. The Red Foxes played Iona to a 1-1 draw on Friday night, and they beat Fairfield 4-0 on Sunday. Fairfield is currently the 5th ranked team in the region.
Red Foxes sophomore Jamison Allegra (East Haven, Conn.) had a big weekend. The forward scored three goals in the two matches. Two players were also recognized by the MAAC. Joe Touloumis (Cranford, N.J.) was named the conference Rookie of the Week, and Daniel Owens (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) was named the conference Defensive Player of the Week.
The Red Foxes are 3-2-2 in the MAAC with two matches left in the regular season. They are currently on a three game unbeaten streak and will visit St. Peter's on Friday and Manhattan on Sunday.
