POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist Softball doubleheader at Manhattan on Saturday has been moved to Branch Brook Park Athletic Complex in Newark, N.J. due to field renovations on the Jaspers' home field in Riverdale. Directions to Branch Brook Park are included below.
The field is in Branch Brook Park in the Middle Division.
Located on the corner of Bloomfield Ave., and Lake Street.
FROM THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY: Get off at exit 148, (Bloomfield Ave). Turn onto Bloomfield Ave, heading towards Newark (East). Stay on Bloomfield Ave until you see Branch Brook Park. Make a right turn into the park, there will be no sign indicating Branch Brook Park. It will be the first right hand turn after Third Street. (That is the name of the street) There will also be Garden State Car Wash on the corner before the turn. If you have reached Lake Street you have missed the turn. The parking lot is at the bottom of the street.
From the parkway you can also use EXIT 145 the route 280 exit and follow the directions below.
FROM THE WEST: Take route 80 or 46 East to Route 280 East, get off at the First Street Newark Exit (Note: Highway Exit from the Left Side). Make a left at the light and travel on First Street until the end, make a right onto Park Ave. From Park Ave make your first right turn into Branch Brook Park. Go left at the Fork at the bottom of the road. Travel under the Park Ave Bridge and through the winding Park Road, the parking lot and field will be your first right hand turn from the Park Road.
FROM THE NORTHEAST: Take Route 3 to Route 21 South. Make a right at Third Ave. (The first Traffic Light on Route 21) Take Third Ave to Summer Ave, the third traffic light, and make a right. Take Summer to Second Ave the first Traffic light and make a left. Take Second Ave straight into the park. Make a left onto Christopher Columbus Way, (the end of the road and at the one way sign) make your first left into the parking lot and field, the turn will be immediately after you go under the Bloomfield Ave Bridge.
FROM THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE: Exit the turnpike at the Newark Route 280 exit, and travel on Route 280 West. Get off at the Clifton Ave Exit and Stay to your right. Turn right onto Clifton Ave and travel past the Sacred Heart Cathedral (Huge church on left side) Make a left onto Park Ave the first block after Church. Take Park Ave to Park entrance it will be the first right turn after Lake Street, there is no sign that indicates the Park. If you pass a Hess gas station you have missed the turn. At the bottom of the park road make a left turn. Travel on winding Park road and make you first right into the parking lot and field.
