EDISON, N.J. - The deciding contest of the 2008 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Soccer Championship will be televised live on ESPNU, it was announced today. The championship game will be played at noon on Sunday, Nov. 16 at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field on Marist's campus.
This will mark the third time the game has been nationally televised as the game was also broadcast on ESPNU in 2005 and 2006. Last year's MAAC Women's Soccer Championship between Loyola and Marist at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field was also televised in ESPNU.
It was also announced that the MAAC Volleyball Championship match, set for 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23 at Siena College will be televised on ESPNU. MAAC Volleyball made its national television debut last fall as Siena defeated Fairfield 3-2 for the MAAC Championship.
The MAAC champion in both men's soccer and volleyball receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
