SYRACUSE, New York – The Marist men's tennis team fell 5-2 to Bryant College, Saturday afternoon at Turning Stone Resort. The Red Foxes are in the midst of a three match weekend up in Syracuse and after defeating UConn a day prior, Marist ran into a tough Bryant team today.
Bryant took down the Red Foxes in the first three doubles matches and then carried the momentum into singles play. Freshman Max Darrington and senior captain Julien Hochner won the Red Foxes lone doubles match, defeating Bryant's pairing, 6-4.
Fredrik Bjerke earned one of the two points for Marist today, defeating Bryant's Oliver Walsh, 6-1, 7-6 (4). Freshman Carlos Moreno earned the Red Foxes other point on the day as he defeated Scott Plutt, 6-2, 7-5. Jan Dernic, Timo Tanzer, and Dylan Fletcher were all able to take their matches into third sets but were unable to pull out victories.
The Red Foxes continue action with their final day at Turning Stone on Sunday with a showdown against Binghamton before returning home.
