POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist volleyball team returns home to McCann Arena this weekend, for two more Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchups. The Red Foxes will take on the Canisius Golden Griffins on Saturday, October 12, and then the Niagara Purple Eagles on Sunday, October 13. First serve on Saturday is at 1 p.m., and first serve on Sunday is set for noon.

This week's Red Fox Network Feature focuses on junior defensive specialist
Courtney Kasperski. In volleyball, a lot of the time you see the setters, outside hitters and middle blockers receive a lot of the attention and receiving all of the accolades. However, this is not an accurate representation of how valuable a defensive specialist is to a volleyball team. In the second installment of "41 Questions with a Red Fox," Kasperski takes a stroll through campus and answers questions about herself , her position, and her teammates. - On Wednesday, Marist suffered its first MAAC loss in over two weeks to the Quinnipiac Bobcats in four sets. The Red Foxes' conference record now stands at 4-2.
- Megan Fergus had a team-high 16 kills in the match, and she was followed up by Madelyn Waumans who had eight, and Sarah Austin and Gabby Murray who each had seven.
- Sophia Theriot matched her career-high with 28 digs, and Halle Carter added a match-high 28 assists.
- The Red Foxes tallied 13 total blocks as a team, which was not only their highest total of the season, but the most Marist has accumulated in a match in 364 days, last being done on October 10, 2018.

- With her her 12th kill in the third set of Wednesday's match against Quinnipiac, Fergus became the ninth player in program history to reach the 1,000 career kills club.
- She now stands at ninth place on the all-time career kills list, and is just 11 kills away from passing Assistant Coach Kelsey Lahey on the list and taking over sole possession of eighth place.
- With 26 kills this weekend, Fergus will jump three spots in the list, and move into sole possession of sixth place. She will then be right behind teammate Nikki DeSerpa, who is currently in fifth place on the list.

- The Golden Griffins come into Saturday's match with an overall record of 8-9, with a 5-0 mark in the MAAC
- Canisius is currently riding a five-match winning streak, with all five wins accounting for their undefeated MAAC record.
- The Golden Griffins are hitting .204 as a team this season, and are holding opponents to a .214 mark.
- Leah Simmons leads Canisus' attack with 210 total kills and 3.23 kills per set.
- The Griffs rely heavily on freshman libero Bree Long, who leads the team with 275 digs and 21 receptions.

- The Purple Eagles head into the weekend with a 5-10 record (4-1 MAAC).
- After losing their MAAC opener to Canisius, Niagara has won four MAAC matches in a row, heading into the weekend on a four-match winning streak
- The Purple Eagles cleaned up the MAAC weekly awards this past week, with Jaycie Roberts earning MAAC Player of the Week and Emillie Wright earning MAAC Libero of the Week.
- Roberts has led Niagara's attack this season with 146 total kills, 2.61 kills per set, on a .237 hitting percentage.
- Cameron Maris leads the team in both total blocks (29) and solo blocks (six).

Marist does not return to action until next weekend, when the Red Foxes will travel to New Rochelle for an evening contest on Saturday, October 19. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
