NIAGARA FALLS, New York -Ā The Marist volleyball team closes out its four-match road trip this weekend with matches against the Niagara Purple Eagles and Canisius Golden Griffins. Heading into the weekend, just a half game is separating the three teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings, so the slate will have a massive impact on the playoff picture. First serve against Niagara on Saturday, November 9 is at noon, and first serve against Canisius on Sunday, November 10 is at 1 p.m.

- The Red Foxes are coming off a tough loss to the undefeated Fairfield stags on Wednesday, November 6.
- Despite losing in four sets, Marist's first set victory was just the fourth set the Stags have dropped against MAAC opponents this season.
- Megan Fergus led the way with a match-high 18 kills, and added three total blocks and three digs.
- Sophia Theriot has a match-high 18 digs and made 30 receptions.

- Fergus is now just one kill away from taking over sole possession of fourth place on the program's all-time kills list.
- Fergus is also now just eight total blocks away from moving into seventh place on the all-time total blocks list.
- Stephanie Stone is closing in on Fergus on the all-time total blocks list, now trialing her teammate by just 11 total blocks.

- The Red Foxes shut out the purple eagles, holding themĀ under 18 points in all three sets.
- Fergus lead the team and the match with 15 kills. Gabby Murray chipped in 10 kills as well on a .714 hitting percentage.
- McKinley Fox commanded the offense perfectly, picking up 39 assists in the match, and tallying 14 digs for a double-double.

- The Purple Eagles are 10-13 overall and 9-4 in conference so far this season, currently a half-game ahead of Marist in the MAAC standings.
- Since last playing the Red Foxes on October 13, Niagara has won four of their last six games.
- Niagara is coming off of a 0-3 loss to Rider last time out, but it was a close loss. The Purple Eagles lost the second set 37-35 and the third set 25-23.
- Jaycie Roberts and Caroline Leitch lead the attack for the Purple Eagles, having totaled 225 and 212 kills, respectively, so far this season.

- The Red Foxes lost a tough five-set battle to the Golden Griffins in McCann Arena back on Saturday, October 12.
- Marist's offense was led by Fergus and Maddy Waumans in the match, tallying 19 and 18 kills, respectively.
- Halle Carter had a nice game for the Red Foxes, double-doubling with 40 assists and 15 digs.
- Theriot tallied 38 digs in the match, which was a career-high but also tied a mark set by Brooke Zywick back in 2012 for the second most digs in a single match in program history.
- Marist had 102 digs as a team in the match, which wereĀ the most the team has tallied in a single match since all the way back in 2014.

- Canisius has an overall record of 12-13 this season, with a 9-4 record in MAAC.
- The Golden Griffins are currently a half-game in front of Marist in the conference standings.
- Since last playing the Red Foxes, the Griffs have gone 3-4.
- Canisius is coming off a four-set victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks. After losing the first set by just two points, the Griffs came back to win three straight sets.Ā Ā

The Red Foxes will close out the season with a two-game homestand next weekend. The first match will be against Iona on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. The following night will be Senior Night against Manhattan at 6 p.m.
