NAPLES, Italy – Myriam Lizotte represented Canada at the World University Games from July 2-13, and helped the team to a fourth place finish. Lizotte scored six goals during the tournament to propel Canada to wins over Japan, France, Czech Republic and the United States.
The Gatineau, Quebec-native led Canada with two goals in the 8-1 win over France, and scored at least once in four of six matches. The Canadians eventually fell 15-7 to hosts Italy in the semi-final round, and then were defeated 22-7 by the Russian Federation to earn a fouth-place finish.
Lizotte was one of Marist's leading scorers as a freshman in the 2019 season, recording 35 goals and ten assists in 37 games. The Red Foxes compiled a 22-16 record overall, going 12-2 in the MAAC and earning wins over #19 San Diego State, #21 Cal-State Northridge and #19 San Jose State. Marist was named in the ACWPC Top 25 for every week of the season, peaking at #20.
