Editor's Note: This fall, the Marist Athletics Department is holding the "Red Fox Review" series, which will take a look back at memorable performances and games on their anniversaries.
October 5, 2020 – Seven years ago today, Rycke Guiney had a hat trick, set a single-game program record for points, and set the Marist women's soccer program's career record for points.
Guiney accomplished these feats in a 5-0 home triumph over Rider. She scored two goals in the first half, and added a third in the second half for the program's first hat trick in 14 years. Guiney then added an assist to cap the first seven-point contest in Marist women's soccer history. That feat would be match by Camille Bowen at Delaware State in 2016.
The outstanding performance gave Guiney a new program record of 63 career points. She finished her career with 71, which still ranks first in program history.
Guiney would go on to become Marist's
Female Sportsperson of the Year in 2014.
Below is the game story from that evening:

The Red Foxes' scoring streak continued in the second half as Guiney netted her third goal of the game. Guiney dribbled up the left sideline and took a hard shot from 30 yards out. The ball dropped over the goalkeepers head to give Marist a 4-0 lead.
Moments later, at the 57:26 mark, Burke connected with a Guiney corner kick and headed the ball to earn a 5-0 advantage with less than 30 minutes remaining in the second half. The Red Foxes would shutout the Broncs and move to 3-2 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play.
