TEMPE, Arizona – The Marist men's and women's tennis programs have been recognized as ITA All-Academic for the 2019-20 academic year. In addition, 12 student-athletes (eight from the men's team, four from the women's team) garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
Â
To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team award, a program must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
Â
The men's program led the entire Marist athletic department during the previous fall and spring semesters. The Red Foxes received the men's Athletic Director's Award, which goes to the team with the top cumulative GPA.
Â
The women's program finished strong in the spring semester, posting a top-five GPA among women's programs. Five athletes had a 3.5 GPA or higher during that time.
Â
An ITA Scholar-Athlete must meet the requirements of having a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
