DALLAS, Texas – For the second time in her professional career, Marist women's basketball alumna Tori Jarosz has been invited to training camp with the WNBA's Dallas Wings, the league announced through the transaction wire on Sunday, April 18th. Dallas announced its training camp roster on Monday, April 19th.
Â
Jarosz previously participated in camp with the Wings in 2016, when she was invited following her final season with the Red Foxes and played during the Wings' preseason. In that instance, Jarosz became the third Red Fox in program history to attend training camp with a WNBA roster. Previously, Rachele Fitz joined the Connecticut Sun and
Fifi Camara played with the New York Liberty.
Â
Recently, the Wings made four top-13 selections in the 2021 WNBA Draft. Dallas selected former Texas center Charli Collier with the first overall pick. Louisville guard Dana Evans, who Marist faced in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in March, was also drafted to the Wings at 13th overall.
Â
Vickie Johnson is in her first season as Dallas' head coach. The Wings begin their 2021 season on Friday, May 14th. The WNBA has not announced a preseason schedule as of writing.
Â
Jarosz recently played with Zaglebie Sosnowiec of the EKBL, the first and highest-tier level of the Polish League Pyramid. In 18 games, the Cortlandt Manor, NY native averaged 10.7 points per game, third on the team. The center snagged a team-best 8.6 rebounds per contest, and shot 50.6 percent from the field.
Â
Following a standout Marist career, Jarosz played professional basketball in eight different countries, including the United States. She has made previous stops in Poland, Italy, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Australia, and Puerto Rico.
Â
In 82 career games as a Red Fox, Jarosz became Marist's all-time leader with 8.7 rebounds per game and 186 blocks. Jarosz also ranks top 10 in program history in points per game (15.0 – fifth), field goal percentage (.489 – seventh), free throws (340 – sixth), and rebounds (714 – seventh). She won MAAC Player of the Year in 2016, and was a two-time All-MAAC First Team selection in 2015 and 2016.
