BUFFALO, New York - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships concluded on Saturday in Buffalo, New York.
The men finished in third place, only trailing Fairfield by 25 points for the second spot. The men also finished with eight medals and broke three school records throughout the weekend. The Marist women finished in fourth place for the weekend, but had a number of team and individual medal winners. The Red Foxes finished with eight medals, including two first place finishes from
Grace Reeves.

- The relay team of Ahmed Sallam, Chris Dauser, Pavel Makarchuk, and Ethan McCormac finished second in 1:30.14, breaking the previous school record. Ahmed Sallam recorded a time of 22.56 in the backstroke, which also broke a school record.
- Senior Ahmed Sallam finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a 20.01 final time. The time also set a new school record.
- Junior Tyler Wenzel placed third in the 3-meter dive with a 249.75 final score. Wenzel trailed first place by 19.20 points.
- James Conable placed third in the 400IM with a time of 4:00.17, less than two seconds out of second place.
- In the 400 Medley Relay, the Marist men's team finished second place with a time of 3:18.97.
- On Day 4, Ahmed Sallam took home first in the 100 FREE with a time of 44.04.
- The men's 400 Freestyle team finished in third in the event, falling short of second place by less than .2 seconds.Â

- Reeves took home first place in the 1-meter dive, finishing with a score of 246.30 in the finals.
- Freshman Madeline Healey earned second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5.01.51 final time, which was short of first place by 1.83 seconds.
- On day three, Reeves won first place in the Women's 3-meter dive with a score of 239.45 to win her second event.
- Jordyn Deubel also placed on Friday in the 400IM with a score of 4:31.33 seconds which was good for third place.
- Veronica Stureborg placed second in the 100-Back with a time of 56.50.
- Senior diver Madison Sweeney tied for second place in the 3-meter dive.
- Madeline Healey finished in third in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:18.99.
- Stureborg continued her success with another medal in the 200 Back with her third place finish.
Marist graduate student
Grace Reeves of Marist Swimming and Diving was also named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Diver, the conference announced Saturday evening.
Reeves had a very successful season, bringing home MAAC Diver of the Week tfive separate times. In early November, Reeves was awarded MAAC Diver of the Week in two consecutive weeks after winning both boards in a meet at Fairfield.Â
At the MAAC Championships, Reeves won the 1-meter dive and was also victorious in the 3-meter dive.Â
The graduate student, along with the men's and women's teams', will look to continue their success at the ECAC Championships next weekend in Maryland.
