POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team earned another award from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Tuesday. Haley Ahr earned her fifth MAAC Rookie of the Week selection.
 
Haley Ahr hit .667 with a 1.817 OPS (1.111 slugging, .706 on base) in Marist's four games this past week. Additionally, she drove in five runs, stole four bases, drew six walks, scored two runs, and belted a double and a home run. She hit safely in all four games. In the first game of a doubleheader at UMass on April 12, Ahr singled, stole a base, and had two sacrifice flies in Marist's 9-3 win. In game two, she singled, walked, and stole two bases.
 
In a doubleheader at Siena on April 15, Ahr reached safely nine times in 10 plate appearances. In game one, she reached safely all six times by going 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, a stolen base, and three walks. She homered, scored two runs, and walked twice in Marist's 8-5 win in game two. Ahr also handled all 27 fielding chances she had flawlessly (24 putouts, three assists) while splitting time between shortstop and first base. 
 
The red-shirt freshman has now won eight total MAAC weekly awards (three player, five rookie).

Marist gets back to action on Saturday as the Red Foxes return to conference play with a doubleheader at Rider. First pitch of game one is set for noon.
