POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – A new era for the Marist women's basketball team is set to begin as head coach Erin Doughty takes over on the sidelines.
 
The Red Foxes will play a total of 10 non-conference games, with three taking place at McCann Arena. Marist will travel to Savannah, Georgia over Thanksgiving Break for the four-team Savannah Hoops Invitational that also features Mercer, Bowling Green, and Lehigh.

Thursday, Nov. 9

Army at Marist

• Season opener.
• In the prior meeting between the teams, Marist prevailed 85-55 on Dec. 5, 2020.
• This is Army's first trip to Marist since Dec. 28, 1999, a 72-63 Marist win.

Saturday, Nov. 11

Marist at Penn

• The Red Foxes travel to Penn for the first time since 2005.
• The two teams matched up last season for the first time in Poughkeepsie since 2004, Penn defeated Marist in a close matchup 65-61.

Wednesday, Nov. 15

Marist at Lafayette

• This is the third straight year the teams have met.
• Marist earned a 52-42 home win over the Leopards last year. Jackie Piddock had 12 ponts and five rebounds. Zaria Shazer had eight points and 14 rebounds.
• Marist last played at Lafayette on Dec. 1, 2021. Marist dropped the non-conference game to Lafayette 53-50, Zaria Shazer had a game-high 14 points.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 22 – Thursday, Nov. 23

Marist at Savannah Hoops Invitational

• The Red Foxes will be one of the four teams to participate in the Savannah Hoops Invitational.
• The three other teams at the Savannah Hoops Invitational are Mercer, Bowling Green and Lehigh.
• Match-ups will be announced at a later date.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 28

Marist at Yale

• This is the first meeting between the teams since Dec. 20, 2012, which was also at New Haven.
• Marist earned a 62-50 win over the Bulldogs.

 

Sunday, Dec. 3

St. John's at Marist

• The two teams last faced each other in 2018, St. John's defeated Marist 68-47 in the first round of the Postseason WNIT.
• This is the Red Storm's first trip to Poughkeepsie since Nov. 24, 2014.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 6

Drexel at Marist

• This will be the second matchup between the teams, who first met in 2021. Marist earned a 52-50 road win in its season opener as Zaria Shazer had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
• This is the first time Drexel has traveled to Poughkeepsie to take on Marist.

 

Saturday, Dec. 9

Marist at Albany

• In the last matchup, Zaria Shazer recorded 14 points in a 76-48 victory over the Great Danes on Dec. 15, 2020.
• Marist last traveled to Albany on Nov. 13, 2019, which was a 76-52 win for Marist.

 

Thursday, Dec. 21

Marist at Cornell

• This is Marist's first time facing Cornell since 2005.
• Marist earned a 68-53 win over the Big Red on Dec. 4, 2005, which took place at Cornell.

A new feature for this season is the introduction of VIP courtside seats at McCann Arena. These seats will be located on the playing floor in areas formerly occupied by press row seating. In-arena alcohol sales will now occur for the first time as well.
