POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Red-shirt freshman tight end
Jackson Conners-McCarthy of the Marist football team was named Football Championship Subdivision Freshman All-American by Stats Perform.
Â
This is Conners-McCarthy's second national honor in as many days. On Tuesday, he was named an FCS Honorable Mention All-American by The Associated Press.Â
Conners-McCarthy is the third player in program history, and first freshman, to earn All-American awards from multiple outlets in the same season. He joins Juston Christian (2018) and Terrence Fede (2013) in this category.
Conners-McCarthy led the Red Foxes in receptions (50) and receiving yards (441) this season. His total of receptions (33), receiving yards (326), and receiving touchdowns (three) were the most of any tight end in PFL play and the most of any PFL freshman in league play. He added 64 rushing yards on seven attempts. On Oct. 5 at Davidson, Conners-McCarthy had a season-high 101 receiving yards and a touchdown on five receptions. He added 29 rushing yards on two attempts.
Â
Conners-McCarthy was named Second Team All-Pioneer Football League on Dec. 3.
Â
Conners-McCarthy joined the Red Foxes this season after spending the 2023 season at Bryant, where he played linebacker.
