POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University football team had nine selection to this year's Pioneer Football League All-Academic Teams, which were released Wednesday afternoon.

The total of nine was the most of any school in the PFL. It also tied a program set in 2009, Marist's first year in the league.

Three Red Foxes were selected First Team PFL All-Academic:
Will Aaronson,
Chris Leonardo, and
Nate Robinson Jr. Six were named Second Team PFL All-Academic:
Garrett Carter,
Brandon Furey,
Sonny Mannino,
Lance Martinez,
Jack Melore, and
Ethan Yuska. The three First Team selections were Marist's most since 2019.

Will Aaronson
- Currently pursuing his master's in Business Administration.
- Started all 12 games at left guard. Played 96 percent of the team's snaps, and allowed just one sack in 451 pass attempts.

Chris Leonardo
- Economics major.
- Third year in a row earning First Team Academic All-PFL.
- Previously named a national finalist for the Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award and a national semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy this year.
- Started every game at right tackle for the third straight year. Played 89 percent of the team's snaps, and allowed just three sacks in 451 pass attempts.

Nate Robinson Jr.
- Psychology major.
- Named First Team All-PFL on Tuesday.
- Was a national finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, presented to the top defensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Garrett Carter
- Pursuing his master's in Business Administration.
- Starter at linebacker. Totaled 62 tackles, four tackles for loss, two-and-a-half sacks, two pass break-ups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Brandon Furey
- Psychology major.
- Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District last year.
- Started every game at center. Â Played 75 percent of the team's snaps, and allowed just one sack.

Sonny Mannino
- Business Administration major.
- Named Honorable Mention All-PFL each of the last two seasons.
- Averaged a league-best 201.9 passing yards per game in PFL play this year.

Lance Martinez
- Business Administration major.
- Named Honorable Mention All-PFL this season.
- In the regular season, ranked 11th in the FCS in yards per reception (20.0).

Jack Melore
- Business Administration major.
- Caught 15 passes for 125 yards this season.

Ethan Yuska
- Business Administration major.
- Averaged 40.5 yards on 58 punts this season, with six of at least 50 yards and 15 dropped inside the 20.

Eligibility requirements for Academic All-PFL Teams include having a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, reaching their second year of school academically, plus being a starter or key reserve.
