Red Foxes Prepped for Dr. Sander's Scorcher

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Marist men's and women's indoor track and field returns to action this weekend with the Dr. Sander's Scorcher inside the New York Armory.

MEN'S LAST TIME OUT
  • The highlight of the day at the Gotham Cup came in the 500-meter dash, where Ryan Trocolar surged to victory in 1:03.80, a personal best and the second-fastest time in program history
  •  Marist packed three more runners into the top 15 in the event, as Simon Advento, Adam Staffier, and Jordan Dolansky all delivered strong early-season marks.
  • The Red Foxes also showcased significant depth in the 400 meters, where Miracle Okoli (4th), Amari Mathis (5th, personal best), Weston LaBrecque (6th), and Emmanuel Harris (10th, personal best) all produced competitive performances on the Armory oval.
  • In the middle distances, Sean Wilson led a tightly bunched Marist group in the 800 meters, placing second in 1:57.08.
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes were led by Emily Litke, who controlled the 5,000-meter run from the gun. Litke surged to a first-place finish in 17:51.73, a massive personal best, and impressively lapped the entire field on her way to the program's top performance at the Gotham Cup
  • Freshman Elise Attiogbe made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, charging to second place in the 800 meters. Her time of 2:19.16 was not only a personal best, but also one of the strongest opening efforts by a Marist rookie in recent seasons.
  • In the 3,000 meters, Mallory Holloway delivered one of the day's biggest breakthroughs. The sophomore chopped more than 45 seconds off her previous best, placing third in 10:06.28 for a major milestone performance.
  • The field events featured more program history. Kelly Ballen broke her own school record in the weight throw for the second straight week, extending the mark out to 9.85 meters to continue her rapid improvement
  • The Red Foxes closed the meet with competitive efforts in both relays, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 3,200-meter relay.
