Red Foxes Set for Weekend at BU Terrier Invite

BOSTON, MA - Marist men's and women's indoor track and field returns to action on Friday and Saturday with the Boston Terriers Invite inside the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
 
MEN'S LAST TIME OUT 
  • The men's track and field team continued its indoor season at the Dr. Sander's Scorcher 
  • In the men's open mile, Joaquin Bell-Andrade won the first heat in convincing fashion, clocking 4:25.05 to lead the Red Fox contingent and place 40th overall in a large field. 
  • Steven Viera followed close behind in 42nd place with a mark of 4:25.43, giving Marist a tight pairing in the event.
  • In the invitational long jump, Manasi Simpkins continued his promising debut season with a 17th-place finish, recording a jump of 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1.5 inches).
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Marist women's track & field team continued its season at the Dr Sander's Scorcher
  • The meet was highlighted by sophomore Julianna Mirabile, who delivered a personal-best effort in the invitational 800-meter run, clocking 2:14.12 in a strong field.
  • In the open 800 meters, senior Kayla Hawkins recorded her season-best performance, placing 10th in 2:18.91, while Sierra Fisher added depth with a 32nd-place finish.
  • In sprint action, junior Grace Fletcher turned in a season-best time of 59.86 seconds in the seeded 400-meter dash. Rebecca Maclaren placed 12th in the open section of the event with a time of 1:02.16.
  • In field competition, freshman Emma Murphy delivered the Red Foxes' top placing of the weekend, finishing sixth in the open long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5.25 inches).
     
MEN'S LAST TIME OUT AT GOTHAM CUP
  •  Amari Mathis of Marist men's track & field nearly missed tying the program 200 meter dash record by .12 of a second, as the Red Foxes completed their fifth meet of the 2025 campaign at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Saturday.
  • The Marist men's track and field team carried the momentum that the women's team set on day one and kept the fire going on day two of the Boston University Terrier Classic.
  • Ryan Trocolar (8th) set the first PR of the day in the 400 meter dash, while securing a top ten finish in a time of 49.06, which tied the Marist school record previously set by Easton EberweinWeston LaBrecque also set a new personal record with a time of 51.49.
  • We saw two PR's come in the 800 meter run with Patrick Wininger (91st) finishing in a time of 1:59.12 and Josiah Sierra (148th) in 2:07.47.
  • Four new season-best records were set for Marist as well at the meet. Mathis (11th) set a new PR and season-best time in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 21.96, putting him just .12 of a second away from the school record in the event.
  • Miles Chamberlain (21st) earned first in his heat and set a season-best time in the 1000 meter run at 2:30.13.
  • The 4x400 meter relay team (Advento, Eberwein, Washington, Trocolar) set Marist's third season-best record of the day with a time of 3:19.22.
     
  • Gabriel Rodriguez set a season-best record in the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:55.54.
     
  • Matthew Ferreri earned the team's sixth and final PR of the day in the mile run with a time of 4:21.64.
WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT AT BU INVITE
  • Grace Fletcher (42nd) raced a PR in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.29.
  • Julianna Mirabile (148th) earned a PR with a time of 2:19.78 in the 800 meter run.
  • All four women in the 200 meter dash set new PRs with Julia Kropo (35th) racing a time of 25.88, Grace Fletcher (71st) in 26.84, Julie Christinzio (82nd) with a time of 27.21, and Nina Florio (90th) finishing in 27.61. 
  • Sierra Fisher (26th) set a new season best record for Marist in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:56.47.
  • In the mile run Julia Zydanowicz (209th) raced a new PR of 5:09.89. Julia Radjenovic (232nd) followed suit with her own PR of 5:14.23.
