POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team is ranked #20 in this week's D1Softball Mid-Major Poll.
 
The Red Foxes opened the season by going 3-2 in tournament play in Charleston, South Carolina. Marist earned mercy rule wins over George Mason and Charleston Southern, as well as an extra-inning triumph over College of Charleston.
 
Annabelle Geiser led the Red Foxes with a .563 batting average and nine runs scored in the opening weekend. Haley Ahr and Samantha Rogers tied for the team lead with six RBIs. In the circle, Kaylie DeChicchis earned a win and a save, while Stella Blanchard pitched a team-best 11 innings.
 
Marist returns to action this weekend with five games in tournament play at East Texas A&M from Feb. 13-15. The Red Foxes will face Rhode Island, East Texas A&M, Southeast Missouri State, Grambling State, and Jackson State.
