POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist University men's soccer team announced its schedule for the 2026 season. The Red Foxes are slated for 16 regular-season matches following three exhibition contests to open the year.

Head coach Matt Viggiano '99 enters his 24th year with the Marist men's soccer program and his 20th season as head coach. Prior to taking over the program in 2007, Viggiano served as an assistant coach in 1999 and from 2003-05.

Marist enters the 2026 campaign following an 8-4-4 season in 2025. The Red Foxes opened last season with an eight-match unbeaten streak and earned the first national ranking in program history, debuting at No. 20 before climbing to No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Rankings.

The Red Foxes return three All-MAAC selections from last season. Midfielder Gijs Verheul earned All-MAAC Second Team honors, while forward Chris Verheul and forward Adriano Iannello were selected to the All-MAAC Third Team.
 

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE

• Marist opens preseason play on Aug. 8 with a road contest at ACC opponent Syracuse.
• The Red Foxes return to Tenney Stadium for a pair of matches against Monmouth on Aug. 12 and Army on Aug. 15.

NON-CONFERENCE SLATE

• The Red Foxes open the regular season at home against Stony Brook on Aug. 20. Marist defeated the Seawolves 1-0 on the road in last season's opener.
• Marist remains at home to host Air Force on Aug. 23 before welcoming Cornell to Poughkeepsie on Aug. 29.
• The Red Foxes then head west for a two-match California road trip. Marist takes on Saint Mary's (CA) on Sept. 4 before facing San Francisco on Sept. 7.
• Returning to the Hudson Valley, Marist hosts UAlbany on Sept. 15. The Red Foxes earned a 2-1 road victory over the Great Danes last season.

METRO SLATE

• Marist opens conference play at home against Mount St. Mary's on Sept. 19. The Red Foxes defeated the Mount 2-1 on the road during the 2025 season.
• The Red Foxes travel to Sacred Heart on Sept. 30 before returning home to host Iona on Oct. 3.
• Marist heads to Canisius on Oct. 10 and Fairfield on Oct. 14 before hosting Merrimack on Oct. 17. The Red Foxes played the Warriors to a 1-1 draw last season.
• The final stretch of the regular season begins with a road match at Rider on Oct. 24. Marist defeated the Broncs 3-1 at home in 2025.
• The Red Foxes host Saint Peter's on Oct. 28 before traveling to Manhattan on Oct. 31.
• Marist closes out the regular season at home against Siena on Nov. 4.
