Poughkeepsie, NY - Marist College volleyball would reclaim their den as they blanked non-conference rival Providence College tonight at the McCann Center. The Red Foxes are now 13-20, which is their best record since joining the highly competitive MAAC.
The Red Foxes left little doubt to the outcome of the game as they defeated the Friars 28-30 followed by 30-27 victory and a 30-22 final.
Freshman outside hitter Jamie Kenworthy (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) led the Red Fox attack with a .567 hitting percentage behind 18 kills while junior Amy Gillespie (Lebo, KS/ NE Oklahoma A&M) added a team high 14 digs.
Sophomore Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA/ El Molino) chipped in 38 assists breaking her all time single season assist record set last year. The veteran now sits with a total 1128 with the final game of the season looming in the immediate future.
Marist College will seek win #14 when they host non-conference rival Army on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00pm in the McCann Center. The Red Foxes will also honor their lone senior Christina Brozek right before the start of the game.
