Sarah Hutton's volleyball team lost to the University of Missouri - Kansas City, 3-0 this evening in its final match at the Four Points Titan Volleyball Classic at Cal State Fullerton. The Kangaroos took games one and two, 30-18 and 30-17, respectively before winning the final game 30-21.
Senior setter Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, Calif.) tallied 11 assists while rookie Lindsey O'Dell (Kingwood, Texas) added eight. O'Dell also had four kills in the match. Juniors Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa.) and Kim McEathron (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes with five kills each. Freshman Kelsey Schaefer (Maria Stein, Ohio) had a team-high .250 hitting percentage good for four kills. As a squad, Marist tallied 32 digs.
With the loss, Marist fell to 0-5 on the season. The Red Foxes will return to the east coast Monday to begin preparing for the Army Invitational. On Friday and Saturday Sept. 9-10 the team will face off against California-Riverside, St. Francis (N.Y.) and the host Black Knights.
