POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The 2016 Marist softball season saw a considerable number of team and individual records fall, and the Red Foxes also placed in the national rankings both team and individually.
This past season, the Red Foxes won a program-record 45 games as they advanced to NCAA Regional play for the third time in program history. Here is a closer look at Marist's placement in the recently released final national rankings, as well as the team and individual records the Red Foxes broke this year:

- Doubles (94).
- On-base percentage (.388).
- Slugging percentage (.502).

As a team, Marist ranked in the top 50 nationally in the following categories:
- Stolen bases per game (fourth, 2.71).
- Win-loss percentage (11th, .776).
- Doubles per game (14th, 1.62).
- Batting average (19th, .325).
- Fielding percentage (21st, .971).
- Slugging percentage (25th, .502).
- Runs per game (34th, 5.83).
- Earned run average (46th, 2.73).
Individually, Red Foxes ranked in the top 100 nationally in the following categories:
- Maureen Duddy (stolen bases per game, third, 0.93).
- Kyrsten Van Natta (stolen bases per game, 24th, 0.66; sacrifice flies, 48th, four).
- Jessica Van Alphen (saves, 33rd, four).
- Rebecca Freeman (sacrifice flies, 48th, four; 73rd, toughest to strikeout, once per 19.2 at bats).
- Jayne Oberdorf (hits allowed per seven innings, 54th, 55.2; earned run average, 58th, 2.02).
- Janna Korak (doubles per game, 69th, 0.29).
- Brittany Colombo (hit by pitches per game, 97th, 0.21).
