TEMPE, Arizona – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2021 Division I Men's and Women's Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams, with both Marist tennis programs receiving accolades.

Both teams were named ITA All-Academic Teams. The men's program garnered eight Scholar-Athlete honors, while the women added five.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- be listed on the institutional eligibility form

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale)
- all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form
- all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year

The ITA academic awards follow up another strong performance in the classroom in the 2020-21 year. Nine total Red Foxes were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team in April:

In addition, the men's program won the Marist Athletic Director's Award for the third consecutive year, and 16th out of 32 total years the award has existed. Last week,
John Oxner was named a
CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient, which recognizes both athletic and academic accomplishments.
