ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Marist men's swimming and diving team sits in seventh place with 167 points at the conclusion of day two of ECAC Swimming & Diving Championship competition at United States Naval Academy.  Sophomore Nick Spinella (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was the team's top individual performer on Saturday night.

The 200-yd medley relay team of freshmen Dylan Cummings (Midland Park, N.J.), Evan Uy (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii), Jason Ruddy (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) and John Spitzer (Fairport, N.Y.) began the night for Marist with an eighth place finish, though their time of 1:34.98 left them just 0.15 seconds shy of sixth place.

The 100-yd backstroke was the sole event in which Marist had a Championship Final contender. Spinella finished in fifth place with a time of 51.39. In a busy night for the freshman Cummings, he earned fifth place in the Consolation Final at 52.50.

Two Red Foxes saw action in the 400-yd IM Consolation Finals. Cummings took a third place finish with a time of 4:07.10. Junior Sam Nowack (Middletown, Conn.) finished in seventh at 4:15.38.

Ruddy was another Marist swimmer, who participated in a consolation final, as he swam to a sixth place finish of 51.14 in the 100-yd butterfly.

In their final event of the evening, the 800-yd freestyle team of junior Stephen Miller (Downingtown, Pa.), Bill Drennen (Collegeville, Pa.), Spinella and Ruddy earned their program 24 points with a seventh place finish of 7:00.45.

 After the second day of the championship, Navy leads 19 teams, who have had participants in finals, with 475.5 points.

The ECAC Championship will conclude on Sunday. The finals for events 28 through 40 will be held in the afternoon with the first race set to begin at 4 p.m.
