NASHVILLE, Tennessee - The Marist softball team heads to Nashville this weekend to compete in the Bruin Challenge, hosted by Belmont University. The Red Foxes will open their season with four games over the course of three days against Green Bay, Northern Kentucky, and Belmont.

- Green Bay went 13-29 overall and 7-17 in the Horizon League Conference last season and are currently 1-4 overall. The Phoenix opened their season last weekend at the Rambler Rumble in Chicago.
- Morgan Bihun was named All-Horizon League First Team last season as she hit.304 and led Green Bay with 22 RBIs. She was the only Green Bay player to be honored.
- Northern Kentucky went 22-33 overall and 12-11 in the Horizon League last season.
- Ava Lawson was named All-Horizon League First Team for the second season in a row for Northern Kentucky. She led the team in batting average (.329), homers (four), and RBIs (28) season.
- Belmont went 31-23 overall and 12-10 in the Ohio Valley Conference last season.
- Alicia Veltri returns after hitting .308 with eight homers and 39 RBIs last season, and going 15-9 with a 2.98 ERA and 140 strikeouts in the circle.
- Both Northern Kentucky and Belmont will be opening their seasons at the Bruin Challenge.
- The Red Foxes will compete in the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas next weekend.
- Marist will play five games in three days against Arkansas (two games), Boston University (one game), South Dakota State (one game), and Montana (one game).
