POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Junior pitcher
Calista Phippen of the Marist softball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
Phippen has done an outstanding job on the field and in the classroom in her three years at Marist. In her freshman year, Phippen was named an NFCA Top 25 Freshman, Co-MAAC Rookie of the Year, and First Team All-MAAC. She has a career record of 24-10, and her 1.81 ERA ranks second in program history.
Phippen was named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Marist's Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement's Student-Athlete of the Month in 2020. She is a Computer Science and Cyber Security major, with a minor in Information Technology & Systems. She has made the Dean's List in all five of her semesters at Marist. Phippen has also gained internship experience with website design in 2019 and as a Back End Software Developer at IBM in 2020.

Marist returns to action on Thursday with a doubleheader at conference rival Fairfield. First pitch of game one is set for 2 p.m.
