Marist Football Finalizes Coaching Staff

Werlinger, Palombo, Arroyo, McLaughlin, Cammilleri Join Program

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist University head football coach Mike Willis has announced five additions to complete his coaching staff for the 2025 season.
 
  • Zach Werlinger will serve as tight ends coach. A four-year collegiate quarterback at Arizona, Werlinger was an offensive quality control coordinator at Rice the last two seasons. He previously worked at Cal, Northern Arizona, and WPI.
  • Bob Palombo will be assistant offensive line coach. Palombo is in his third stint at Marist after previously working as offensive line coach (1989-93) and defensive line coach (1995-97).
  • Diego Arroyo will be an offensive assistant. Arroyo is a 2025 Marist graduate who played quarterback for the Red Foxes for three years, and he as a student assistant and manager last season.
  • Blake McLaughlin will be a defensive assistant. A former linebacker at LSU, McLaughlin has worked as a Scorespotter Scout for TXODDS. He is a 2025 LSU graduate.
  • Gino Cammilleri will be the program's director of operations. Cammilleri has seven years of experience in football operations, and he previously worked as a scouting and recruiting analyst at North Dakota.

"These coaches are working tirelessly on helping our student athletes to cultivate a great mindset, bring great energy, and to develop the mental toughness necessary for success on and off the gridiron. I am honored to work alongside each of them!"

The Marist football program is currently in its second week of preseason camp. The Red Foxes open their 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 against New Haven at 7 p.m. This will be the first of Marist's six home games at Tenney Stadium this year.
